G-STRINX | angeldust

Music clip for band G-STRINX and their song ANGELDUST. Four locations, three different methods of mattepaintings plus a little bit of vfx. Clip was realized in studio Eallin Animation. Close collaboration with director Karel Brezina.

WORKING ROLE / WHAT I DID :

  • location photography (Prague)
  • match-moving (3D tracking of camera)
  • 2D - 3D mattepainting of environments
  • animation - vfx (birds, boats, etc.)
  • precompositing
Noir music clip under directing of Karel Brezina and with a camera of Jan J. Filip was a nice surprise for me when I first saw materials from filming. In czech surroundings it was something special. Quality picture made by a camera Panavision Genesis was alternated with precise and visual creative postproduction by Jan Cerny. I was invited to this clip as a 3D mattepainter. My task was to do three basic (animated) locations. There were three different mattepainting techniques. The most challenging scene was a location with a fictional panorama on city of Hamburg. For this purpose I used photos which I took in Prague. Mattapeinting was created by a method 3D projection. I made some simple animations of gulls, flying air particles and animated CGI water to brighten up the environment. The scene was animated by movement of a 3D camera. Besides mattepaintings I worked on camera tracking and precomposition of the scene. Above, you can see making of the whole process and how I dealt with the scenes.
